I’m a wedding photographer based in Portland, Oregon. I love capturing the emotion of your wedding day, every little moment that is fleeting, wonderful, magical and lovely. I aim to collect all the memories you never want to forget, and maybe even a few you might have missed.
I aim to capture your wedding day as naturally as possible, without interfering with what’s really going on, so the images are based on what really happened. But this is a wedding, and one of those rare occasions when your family and friends gather to celebrate you, so I wrap in some easygoing, beautiful portraits too. Most important for me is to show the emotion of the day and who you are as a couple. A few pretty pictures of flowers and rings will get into the mix, but honestly I’m a ninja, mostly staying out of your way and capturing the reality and beauty of the whole day. My processing and retouching are light and natural, so your images stand the test of time.
I’m hoping it’s because you like me and my work! I photographed weddings in Los Angeles for over 15 years, with over 500 weddings under my belt, and I’ve seen it all. I’ve shot weddings with fires going on in the background and soothed angry divorced parents who hadn’t spoken in years, all while capturing adorable flower girls trying on high heels. I take my job very seriously and do everything I can to create beautiful, warm, emotional images that will make you smile for years. Many clients tell me I put them at ease in front of the camera, and I’m quite proud of that.
I customize each package, because everyone has different needs. Some people want me to fly to another continent for multiple days or events, with albums and wall pieces. Others want me to stay local, document the day and deliver the digital files. What I always include is myself as your photographer, a curated set of digital files (approximately 75 per hour of coverage) and a password-protected gallery to share with friends and family. Tell me about your day and I’ll put together a custom quote.
I’m happy to take care of any final products you’d like, and most items are available to order through your private online gallery. I work with the best professional printers and album binders and can create gallery canvas wraps, metal prints and other wall pieces, and I take extra care that every file is perfect for printing. You can also take the digital files in your package and print them wherever you like.
A few weeks before the wedding, we’ll go over who will be involved in the family portraits and create a shot list for those. If there are VIPs or a special event I should know about, let me know. For the rest of the day, I ask that you trust me not to work from a checklist of “must-have images.” I approach each wedding as unique, with my eyes and ears open to moments as they unfold naturally. If I’m carrying a checklist, I’d be more focused on that and miss special things actually happening. I’ll of course get you walking down the aisle, the kiss and the cake cutting. I moved to Portland from Los Angeles and I’m happy to travel anywhere in the world. I don’t charge anything extra for locations within 90 minutes of the city. If travel is involved, we can discuss details and I’ll provide a custom quote.
Yes, I’m insured. If your venue needs a copy of my insurance, please let me know at least a month ahead, so my insurance company has time to prepare the paperwork.
Absolutely. I believe love is love, no matter your race, religion or gender, and I’m here to support and celebrate you. I’ve photographed many variations of love in my career, including LGBTQIA+ couples, couples of different races and mixed-religion weddings, and celebrations including Catholic, Jewish, Hindu, Sikh, Persian and same-sex weddings, to name a few.
