I'm Jen Greer, a boutique senior portrait photographer in Portland, Oregon. Each session is planned around you, so your photos capture your personality at a city landmark, in the forest, or wherever you feel most like yourself.
Graduating high school is a big milestone, and your senior photos should show who you are right now. I work with students and families to create keepsake portraits that are as lively and genuine as this time in your life.
A senior session should be fun, not stressful. I'll help with wardrobe ideas and scout locations around Portland, then guide you through the session so you feel comfortable and relaxed.
Your backdrop sets the tone for your session, and Portland has no shortage of great spots. Are you into nature? Think Forest Park, Hoyt Arboretum or Cathedral Park under the St. Johns Bridge. Want an urban, graffiti vibe? We can shoot the Alberta Street murals, the Pearl District, downtown streets or a rooftop. Love the city and its bridges? The Willamette River is calling. Tell me what inspires you and where you love to hang out, and we’ll chat it out and find the right spot.
Late afternoon is the sweet spot. The last few hours of sunlight, including golden hour, give soft, flattering light that works for almost any location. The exact start time depends on where we're shooting and the time of year, and we'll sort it out together when we schedule.
Senior session fees start at $500, which includes your consultation, session and image reveal.
I want you to be comfortable and feel badass! Bring a selection of outfits we can look through together, so we can mix things up during the session. Stick mostly to pieces that mix and match well and aren’t too busy, since I want the focus on you. But if your personality is loud colors and patterns, go for it. I want to capture the real you.
I don’t know a single person who isn’t nervous about being in front of a camera, including me! Just breathe, let’s play, and I promise you’ll almost forget I have a camera in my hand.
Yes, I highly recommend it. Even guys can benefit from a little grooming. Let me know if you need referrals.
You can change wardrobe as much as you'd like. Most people do about three changes. Layers are an easy way to get some different looks without a full change as well. I encourage choosing locations fairly close to each other if we are doing more than one. Driving around really eats into time and I also want to save your energy for the photos. Bring a few clothing options, and we’ll choose what fits your style and the locations you pick.
I've had some people book me 12 months in advance, others 12 hours! It really depends on the time of year and weather. Spring, summer and fall can book up fast, so if you know you want to work with me, reach out sooner rather than later.
Since I’m based in Portland, Oregon, rain absolutely happens. We can reschedule for the next available date.
It can be very helpful to have someone like a friend or parent come with us to help carry items or clothing options. I wouldn't recommend bringing a full entourage though. Pets will depend on the locations we choose and if they are allowed. I'm happy to include your pet with you, and encourage taking those images early, then have a "wrangler" bring them back to the car to wait for you while we focus on shots of you.
About a week after your session, you’ll see your images at the image reveal, and I’ll walk you through your options.
Absolutely, most of my clients do. I offer digital files you can use for this.
Session fees start at $500. After your session, I offer albums, wall art and prints, which you can choose à la carte.
